Woolwich attack exclusive: Man in bloody video - named 'Mujahid' - was known to Anjem Choudary's ban

Source: Independent

Full headline : Woolwich attack exclusive: Man in bloody video - named 'Mujahid' - was known to Anjem Choudary's banned Islamist group Al Muhajiroun

One of the two men involved in the Woolwich terror attack was known to a banned Islamist organisation and went by the name of Mujahid, The Independent has learned.

Anjem Choudary, the former leader of the group, Al Muhajiroun, confirmed that he had known the man who was seen on video in the immediate aftermath of yesterday's horrific killing waving a cleaver with bloodied hands and making political statements.

Mr Choudary said Mujahid, who he said had converted to Islam in 2003 and was a British-born Nigerian, had stopped attending meetings of Al Muhajiroun and its successor organisations two years ago. The former solicitor said he had also known "Mujahid" as Michael.

Sources today named one of the suspects as 28-year-old Michael Adebolajo.

Sadly, it may be too late over there. Because the rise of the rightwingers wont help the situation, but thats whats going to happen when this type of savage action happens in the streets. And 20 minutes for police to respond? WTF? Its LONDON!

in India, both major parties have a significant Muslim representation and moderates from the Islamic community are elected and appointed to highest offices. Two of India's former presidents were Muslim and there are over a hundred Muslim MPs. The current foreign minister of India, Mr. Salman Khurshid, is a Muslim. It is a significant accomplishment for a country composed of 84% Hindus.

When moderate Muslim leaders see success in the conventional political process, the rage of the radicals for being powerless is erased.

We need to run more qualified Muslim candidates and help get them elected.

Tea Party mistrust of the government. Maybe we could appoint TPers to staff the senior levels of the IRS.

Anjem Choudry once said "you love life.... We love death "

He doesn't work...he receives and lives on money from the state.

We look at things through the prism of our own experience. Your reaction could be stemming from something personal that is causing you to interpret outside events in a certain light.

I apologize for posting such crap without properly checking it out first.

Did you see how light his hands were in the "undoctored" part? They were like 2 or 3 shade lighter than his face. That didn't look right.

Two religious lunatics slaughtered a young man in front of many people while mugging for the cameras. Religion can bring out the worst or the best in people.
