Coulson was at the PM's shoulder, they felt they could destroy anyone who stood up to them and NI was untouchable. Thankfully the whole rotting structure of News International in the UK is coming crashing down. This can only be good for UK democracy and will shape the culture of the news media and the police for a generation to come.
To quote Mrs Thatcher: "Stiff sentences!"

(1,248 posts)if Brookes had done him in. Brought down by his favourite prodigy. I have the feeling he's more in the kind of hopeless position Macbeth or Lear found themselves in. A man's life's work being destroyed before his eyes and all his old authority gone. Nothing to do now except wait for the inevitable.
