Obama Doesn’t ‘Have Much Patience’ For Climate Change Deniers
Source: TPM
President Barack Obama said Wednesday at a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago that he's willing to work with Republicans to improve the environment, but he doesn't have "much patience" for those who refuse to accept the scientific consensus on climate change.
Obama warned donors that the climate is warming at an accelerated rate, and that while the dangers may not be readily apparent, they are still severe.
"But the flipside is we also know that the climate is warming faster than anybody anticipated five or 10 years ago, and that the future...in part, is going to depend on our willingness to deal with something that we may not be able to see or smell the way you could when the Chicago River was on fire, or at least could have caught on fire, but is in some ways more serious, more fundamental," Obama said.
Because of that seriousness, Obama said he's willing to hear out "a different approach" to dealing with the issue. What he won't consider though, he said, are ideas from climate change deniers.

(22,651 posts)I wish Pres. O would delve into our DOI and the BLM, they are corrupt and those impact forms are lies many of the times.
For example,- the impact forms the BLM uses to kill off our protected wild horses NEVER note or mention!! the millions of cattle grazed on the same public lands.
President O. is a 'greenhorn' and easy for the good old boys to snooker, though getting rid of old 'Slaughter-Tzar-Salazar' was finally a start.

(5,178 posts)The backbone of Wall St & it's investors/cheerleaders. He is excluding quite a few people with that statement.
Then again, perhaps he doesn't feel that monetarily supporting & profiting from climate change deniers is the same, or even worse, than being one.

(36,392 posts)that's been such a big success so far.
when the party gets trounced next year, please review the last month's news before castigating liberals. If the president wants to govern as a republican, he will have to count on republican votes to get the congress he wants. Good luck with that.

Ya think Michele and the kids are lobbying him?
And that this message is just to get them off his back?
Cuz I don't see much action, just a lot of words.
