White House: Obama not ready to back legalized marijuana
Source: The Hill
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said that President Obama does not "at this point advocate a change" in how marijuana is classified, despite believing that targeting individual pot smokers was "not the best allocation for federal law enforcement resources."
"The priority in terms of the dedication of law enforcement resources should be targeted toward our drug kingpins, drug traffickers and others who perpetrate violence in the conduct of the drug trade," Earnest told reporters.
The statement comes as Colorado and Washington await word on how the Justice Department will respond to passage of laws in each state that legalize the sale of marijuana. The practice is banned under the federal Controlled Substances Act.
It also follows a column earlier this month from CNN medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, who apologized for dismissing the medicinal benefits of the drug.

Second, Da Prez has 2 teenage daughters that he does'nt want to go all Miley Cyrus on him - if for no other reason than what the tabloids would turn it all into, and the damage that would ensue to the kids.
Third, and just my opinion: This President, perhaps more than others in recent times, governs with the consent of the National Security State (including the D-Pharma Enforcement Agency), and sold a little of his soul to Wall Street in Sept. 2008 to ensure his election.

It seems there always has to someone in this country that can't be free to do something that harms no one. Does that make sense?

Either (1) the above is correct (i.e., he is the latest in a line of puppets / figureheads)
or (2) it is not correct (i.e., he is an independent president who is responsible for
his own actions).
If the first case is true then Obama is a good honest man who was just too damn naive
for the job (fancy thinking that he could actually *do* the things he wanted to do for the
good of the country & its people).
If the second case is true then Obama is a dishonest opportunist (like all the rest
of the crew) who is perfectly happy to lie to gain votes during election time and
makes the decisions according to the highest bidder at the time.
Regardless of which is correct, the result is you've still been f*cked over again.
