Syria crisis: UK to put forward UN resolution

Source: BBC

The UK is to put a resolution to the UN Security Council "authorising all necessary measures to protect civilians" in Syria.

Britain's National Security Council had "unanimously" backed action against Syria over its "unacceptable" chemical weapons use, PM David Cameron said.

The resolution is being put forward at a meeting of the Security Council's five permanent members on Wednesday.

UN inspectors have resumed their probe into an alleged nerve gas attack.

If it's changed, then the BBC has edited the article since I posted it.

If we're expected to continuosly monitor the original article in case of edits, then LBN becomes untenable IMO (or you need some mechanism to dynamically refetch the text at each page reload).

Or I could have worded it more like "Heads up, the headline's changed".

You're a valuable asset to LBN and I did know you probably wouldn't have done it on purpose.

I had issues with an AP post yesterday when they changed both the headline and the narrative on the same link.

The UK has put a draft resolution to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council "authorising all necessary measures to protect civilians" in Syria.

It calls for military action against what Britain has termed Syria's "unacceptable" use of chemical weapons.

But Russia has said the UN must finish its investigation into the claims before discussing any resolution.

Syria has accused the West of "inventing" excuses to launch a strike.
