Colorado lawmaker: Democrats using ‘mind control’ to make people accept ‘homosexual marriage’

Source: Raw Story

In an interview on the Pray in Jesus Name Internet show, disgraced former Navy Chaplain Gordon James “Chaps” Klingenschmitt lamented to state Sen. Kent Lambert (R) that a Christian baker faced up to one year in jail if he continued to discriminate against LGBT couples.

Klingenschmitt said that the problems all started when Gov. John Hickenlooper (D) signed the civil unions law earlier this year.

“There are no waivers or provisions for any contrary thought, whether it’s religion or people’s expression of their own morality,” Lambert explained. “It completely suppresses basically any ideas.”

“It’s a mind-control experiment by the majority party, the Democrats here in Colorado, to force everybody — including children in schools, everything else — under penalty of law to believe in homosexual marriage,” he added.

But noooooooo.

They believe that as cool as the theory of gay marriage is, it simply is not possible for 2 people of the same sex to get married.
Personally, if I was trying to get a cake under those circumstances, and I found out that the owner didn't agree with my marriage, I wouldn't trust them to make a good cake. I'd go somewhere else. Might end up with raspberry and herring.

I have noticed this repeatedly with things like evolution, which they say they "don't believe in" as if it were some nutty religious story that you could decide whether you wanted to believe or not. Of course, science doesn't work that way, but how would they know THAT?

They do the same thing with climate change. They say they "don't believe in" it.

These are people with a very confused notion of what it means for something to be true, and how much influence their own attitude has over verified scientific findings, namely none.

they view marriage only within a Christian context, as sacramental only, nevermind the fact that marriage predates Christianity, is present in other religions, and was secular first, along with the Christian church not recognizing said sacrament for damn near a thousand years.

Indeed, push comes to shove, many Christians will admit that no marriages outside of what their church defines as sacramental are real. Which means non-Christians aren't married to each other, regardless of the genders involved.

And now you know the real reason the people that oppose gay marriage are all a bunch of fucking idiots.

Thu Sep 26, 2013, 12:08 PM
Sep 2013

There is no penalty in place for opposing it, they are free to feel as bad as they like about it, free to say they still think its deplorable, even free to be as bigoted as they have always been and will always be, they just cannot actually STOP it, and that isn't a penalty, that's just the way it is.

Hell, even the courses of action available to try and stop/oppose it don't change, so they can still speak out, still lobby their elected officials to try and change it back (as fruitless as that endeavor is), still organize people to let us all know exactly how wrong minded and backwards they are.

So I say again, exactly what "penalty of law" are they suffering?

Anytime you present evidence or make an argument to someone you are attempting in some way to control their minds. If nothing else , you at least want to control their attention and thoughts long enough so that they comprehend your point. Perhaps in some cases you want to persuade them to see that your point of view is correct.

In a sense any conversation between a speaker and one or more listeners is a form of mind control.
