Large anti-Golden Dawn protest in Greece ends in violence
Source: EuroNews
Police and anti-fascist protesters have clashed in Athens near the Golden Dawn party headquarters.
Riot officers fired tear gas at protesters who hurled petrol bombs and stones. Rampaging protesters set garbage cans on fire and smashed bank windows. Police chased small groups of protesters through the streets.
The violence in the Greek capital came after dozens of demonstrators broke off from an otherwise peaceful march that police prevented from reaching the offices of the ultra right-wing, anti-immigrant party.
The day had seen the largest protest so far against the killing of left-wing activist and hip hop performer Pavlos Fissas, allegedly by a Golden Dawn supporter.

I have no doubt they are funding these Golden Dawn, anti-Union, anti-poor, anti-everything good and wholesome FASCISTS!
At the time, Greek and financial officials claimed Dunbar was "making something out of nothing."
However, today we have a much clearer picture of how and why Goldman Sachs indeed helped Greece deceive the world as to the size of the country's debt. And today, we understand the extent of the damage done as the European Union clamors for austerity, clamors to squeeze Greece's most vulnerable citizens for the mistakes of those with money and political power.

(17,301 posts)I believe the 1% uber rich were responsible for funding Hitler because none of the big capitalist and corporations in Germany seemed to suffer from Hitler's reign of obscenity. In fact industrial capitalists do best when under a totalitarian government.
So it would not be much of a leap to assume the uber rich like Goldman Sachs are funding the Nazis in Greece, especially when you consider how the Nazis just devastated Greece in WWII. Why would the Greek people now be siding with the very same organization that split them up as spoils of war and rampaged through their country.

(270 posts)Corporate profits from privatizing EVERY ASPECT OF THE GREEK ECONOMY. Goldman Sachs, and not just Sachs, but I believe JPmorgan also helped them hide debts as well.
Side note. Did you hear about the wonderful new way the Greeks are going about accessing the internet, cheaply and with greater anonymity? Gotta love Socialist ingenuity!

In an effort to buck the expensive rates of unreliable corporate telecom companies, a community in Athens, Greece, has created its own private Internet.
Built from a network of wireless rooftop antennas, the Athens Wireless Metropolitan Network (AWMN) now has more than 1,000 members. Data moves through the AWMN mesh up to 30 times faster than it does on the telecom-provided Internet.
According to Mother Jones, this off-the-grid community has become so popular in Athens and on nearby islands that it has developed its own Craigslist-esque classifieds service as well as blogs and an internal search engine.
"It's like a whole other Web," AWMN user Joseph Bonicioli told the magazine. "It's our network, but it's also a playground."
The AWMN began in 2002 in response to the poor Internet service provided by traditional telecommunications companies in Athens. However, the past few years have illustrated another use for these citizen-run meshes: preserving the democratic values of the Internet.
As the Internet has become a ubiquitous presence in day-to-day life, governments around the world have sought to control it. In 2011 for example, when former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak found out that protesters were organizing on Facebook, he commanded the countrys Internet service providers to shut down access, denying 17 million Egyptians access to the Web for days.
