Guantanamo detainee Majid Khan admits terror charges

The first "high value" prisoner held at the US's Guantanamo Bay detention centre has pleaded guilty to terror charges at a war crimes tribunal.

Pakistani Majid Khan, who had lived in the US, agreed to enter the plea in exchange for leniency.

He faces charges which include conspiring with al-Qaeda, murder and attempted murder.

The 32 year old has been in secret US custody since 2003 and alleges that he has been psychologically tortured.

What fucking nonsense. Hold a person forever, torture them, and when they are not being officially tortured, subject them to conditions explicitly designed to amount to torture, and then offer them a sliver of hope for release if only they confess to being a witch.

I'd think that after eight years of torture, anyone would say anything.

On the other hand, since the confession happened during the tenure of a Democratic President, I think we'll see a LOT of lipstick being applied to this particular pig...

Just wondering, if not thats ok.
What bothers me though is its a pretty clear imo violation of the right to a speedy trial but then maybe I am just being picky about things like a person is supposed to have rights.
