Trading surges 27 pct in October at TD Ameritrade

ServicesShare Share on twitterShare on email OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — TD Ameritrade says it handled significantly more trades in October as the nation's leaders deadlocked over fiscal policy and the client assets it holds also grew.

The Omaha, Neb.-based online brokerage said Monday that the average number of client trades it handed each day last month jumped 27 percent over last October to 420,000.

TD Ameritrade says the client assets it holds grew 22 percent over last October to $573.9 billion on Oct. 31.
