House Republicans to try to impeach U.S. Attorney General Holder

Source: Posted on Yahoo from Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republicans in the House of Representatives plan to introduce articles of impeachment against Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday, in the hopes of removing a cabinet member they say has lied to Congress as well as failed to uphold federal law.

"This was not a decision that I made lightly. Since the House voted in 2012 to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt, the pattern of disregard for the rule of law and refusal to be forthright has only continued," Texas Representative Pete Olson, who drafted the articles, said in a statement provided to Reuters on Wednesday.

"The American people deserve answers and accountability. If the attorney general refuses to provide answers, then Congress must take action."

The Justice Department did not respond to requests for comment on the possibility of an impeachment move.

Clearly will not make it through the Senate, and hopefully will backfire right in the Republican's faces. I'm not even sure what specifically they're trying to get him on

they love the sequester, i.e. cutting and taking away from children and seniors, other cuts hurting the middle class and the poor. GOPers are the true "DEATH PANEL" group who obviously blamed another party. GOPers don't want Americans to have health care and if so - pay through the roof for it.

They are NOT pro-lifers but pro-killers, but alas, they have time for bullshit investigations on bullshit scandals because they know they have the corporate media in their pockets.

Issa's misinformation is flowing with no questions asked. Lara Logan and this other rightwing female still have their jobs all the while spreading lies.

GOPers claiming that Dems are panicking over Obamacare which is a damn lie and of course their partners (media) lie spread the effing shit.

HOUSE and SENATE GOPers are worthless. Tax payers should request their money back. . .$24 billion and refuse to pay them alongwith no effing health care.

It seems that the basis of articles of impeachment against AG Holder are credible only if one assumes that Darrell Issa's investigations of Benghazi or Fast and Furious had some basis in fact.

The impeachment of President Clinton at least had some basis in fact. Yes, he got a blow job from a White House intern. No, that is not an impeachable offense. He, the opposite is the case. At least this time the Republicans want to impeach AG Holder for things that are impeachable offenses. He's just not guilty of any of them.

If the Republicans want to impeach Holder, they should impeach him for his failure to prosecute banking fraud on Wall Street. However, the Republicans are trying to convince corporate criminals that they are even bigger suck ups than the Democrats are (which is saying a mouthful), that isn't going to happen.

If the House votes to Impeach, the Senate has not choice but to hold an Impeachment trial. Yes, the vote to remove him would be a foregone conclusion, but it would allow the House to bring in witnesses, publicly allege misdoings, and force a vote to hold over Democrats heads.

Pete is a horrible public speaker and can not read a speech to save his life.

Jon Stewart had fun with Pete a couple of weeks ago. Remember that Pete has never been a combat pilot.

Pete was able to find 19 other idiots to support his crazy plan http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/20-house-republicans-seek-to-impeach-eric-holder

As part of an effort led by Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX), twenty Republican congressmen on Thursday signed onto articles of impeachment against Attorney General Eric Holder.

The other 19 co-sponsors include Reps. Larry Buschon (R-IN), Blake Farenthold (R-TX), David Roe (R-TN), Randy Weber (R-TX), Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), Roger Williams (R-TX), Ted Yoho (R-FL), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Bill Flores (R-TX), Mark Amodei (R-NV), Jim Bridenstine (R-OK), Scott DesJarlais (R-TN), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Duncan Hunter (R-CA), Sam Johnson (R-TX), Steve Stockman (R-TX), Mike Conaway (R-TX) and Thomas Massie (R-KY).

The above list is a good list of some of the more extreme crazies in the GOP caucus.

48. Tom DeLay may be the cause of this effort
Fri Nov 15, 2013, 02:12 PM
Nov 2013

It seems that Pete has been hearing the same rumors that Juanita Jean has been hearing about Tom DeLay (the former holder of this seat) wanting to return to congress. http://www.juanitajean.com/2013/11/15/some-rumors/

No, seriously, my phone has been ringing like a bad handbell choir with people anxious to tell me that Tom is doing a Reunion Tour. He wants to go back to Congress. I saw him get handcuffed and hauled off myownself. I was there having a party the night before and the day after. I never wanted to see him again.

Okay, so Pete didn’t know he was a place holder and got to liking all the attention he gets as a congressman. If I’m hearing about Tom’s plans, you know that Pete is, too. So ….

Pete had decided to lead a movement to impeach Eric Holder. He got 20 other Republicans to sign on with him, 8 from Texas. Yeah, his desk would have gotten at least 26. Furniture. Bless his heart.

Now we have 99 problems in my congressional district, and maybe Eric Holder is one of them, I dunno, but even if he is, he’s gotta be like 96 or 97 on the list.

Pete Olson needs headlines to beat Tom DeLay. So, Holy Crap!, watch Mr. Placeholder become Louie Gohmert, Jr.

I swear that my congressional district is snakebit. Somebody throw some chlorine in the hot tub – Tom is back.

Every business venture pursued by DeLay since he left or was forced out of congress has been a flop. DeLay was horrible on the dancing program. Getting back to congress is the only way that DeLay can get attention and evidently the local GOP types like DeLay.
