Rob Ford’s new TV show includes call for councillors to take drug and alcohol tests

Source: Toronto Star

Mayor Rob Ford is using the debut episode of his new TV show to once again demand that his fellow council members submit to drug and alcohol testing.

The comments are contained in a 35-second clip from the show, which premieres tonight at 8 p.m. on the Sun News Network.

The network stepped in after CFRB decided to end its regular Sunday afternoon radio broadcast featuring Ford and his brother, Councillor Doug Ford.

“I’ll do a drug test and an alcohol test right now. And I put a motion forward that every councilor do it now. You know what? They jumped up, they don’t want anything to do with it,” Ford tells host Joe Warmington, a Toronto Sun columnist.

out in the open so their opinions can be discredited from the get-go!

If the other members of the council were making public spectacles of themselves the way this mayor and his brother are, otherwise I don't see it happening anytime soon. And seriously, why is anyone still listening to their opinions anyway? They need to go back to wherever they came from. If the Fords want to party hardy, that is totally their choice but they have no business running a city, especially one as large as Toronto. The mayor has admitted breaking the law. Why don't they just arrest his fat ass and be done with him?

Not surprisingly, the federal Tories, once very supportive of Ford, have not said much the past little while. They hounded Liberal leader Justin Trudeau when he admitted to a few tokes in his past.

Let's face it, the tough on crime agenda (and the new jails being built despite lower crime rates) aren't going to be holding any of Harper's buddies.

because he admitted to drug use. Bulls**t. There is so, so much more.

Victim mentality. Addicts and loose cannons often have it. At least he's got his enabling brother on his side.

And his playing the "victim" here just makes it all so much worse. The victims are the people of Toronto, especially those who did NOT vote for him. I'm not sure what other reaction he could have possibly expected from people, given the nature of his personality is blowhard bully. I really don't understand how this person has succeeded in politics up to this point. I find him offensive in every possible way.

Saturday Night Live could take potshots at him every week until he resigns. The guy that attempted to play him last week was not even funny.

The guy was a comic genius. He also bears a very close resemblance to Ford. It is a shame he died so young.
