Kentucky Governor To Mitch McConnell: Get Your Facts Straight On Obamacare

Source: Huffington Post

WASHINGTON -- It was just Wednesday night that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) railed against the Affordable Care Act, calling it a "catastrophic failure" for people everywhere.

* * *

But the governor of McConnell's home state came to Capitol Hill on Thursday with a vastly different message: the health care law is working, and people in Kentucky can't get enough of it.

"I have a U.S. senator who keeps saying Kentuckians don't want this. Well, the facts don't prove that out," Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear (D) told reporters.

Beshear said more than 550,000 people have visited the state's Obamacare enrollment website since it launched on Oct. 1. More than 180,000 have called into the health care call center and about 69,000 people have signed up, or about 1,000 Kentuckians per day. Of those who have signed up, he said, 41 percent are under the age of 35.

Of course, the MSM lets McConnell recite his talking points without asking him about his own State's experience with the ACA.

deliberately and with evil intent.

I wonder why the White House people don't come out and openly say that
it's a lie (yes, use the word "lie", diplomacy doesn't work with R-W nuts),
and state exactly what the truth is. This should be done each and every
time some Right-Winger lies.

With enough repetition, more and more of the brain-washed Republican
masses will get to hear the truth -- for a change.

Seems like the vast majority of republicans on congress are lying about Obamacare, and they all seem to be using the same lame talking points about how the people in their state "DON'T" want it, even when the facts show otherwise.

I guess republicans really don't get out much and find out just exactly what the people in their state "REALLY" want since for years they keep getting things wrong when they say "we are doing what the american people want"! That or they are just a bunch of habitual liars!

Whether it's ALEC or some other behind-the-scenes puppeteers, most of "our" congress-critters are taking their feeds from scripted notes - just like the homilies in church that were packaged and sold to the leaders of the flock.

These critters are not answering to us or thinking about their responsibilities as elected representatives. Based on media reports, they need to spend 80% of their time pressuring consitituents and allies to fund their war chests. If they didn't some koch lunatic will run against them and take away their only source of income.

Anyone know of an analysis of how many times certain phrases seem to recur in the repug rote rhetoric? It shouldn't be hard to trace this back to the source. Speaking of which, has anyone heard from KKKarl recently?

I'm not sure I recall that ever happening before.

Sounds like the Governor wants someone else representing his state in the US Senate.

the truth is not in them.

As long as it denigrates President Obama, it is okay to say or do anything and obstruct him at every possible opportunity.

What could possibly have sent them into such a hissyfit of a snit?

The GOP is all over the airwaves and NOT MORE DEMOCRATIC PARTY members disapproving all of this misinformation? Huh? Come on! We need a frontal assault on theis b.s. Where are the liberals beating down these GOP talking points? I don't see them anywhere and haven't!

Even last night, Brian Williams on NBC gives the news and rounds off the segment stating the Republican talking points against the ACA!!! damn it. That should not be the last sentence in a segment about the program. Burns me up!

I have been a SNAP and Medicaid caseworker for 5 years with a 1500+ caseload and have yet to see any form of pay increase. They have been suspended since before I began working there. We are struggling and not a peep out of Governor Beshear. Due to Medicaid expansion and Kynect HBE our responsibilities have increased but our pay has not. Our pay scale is one of the lowest in the country.

Here's our petition.

I hope those new enrollees, remember which party got them health insurance, when it comes time for McConnell's reelection. I hope word of mouth gets him to be a, "has been."
