LINCOLN Gov. Dave Heineman announced his appointment Wednesday of retired Col. Tommy L. Garrett of Bellevue to the seat in Nebraska Legislature vacated by the resignation of Scott Price of Bellevue.
Garrett was one of the five who applied for the position, but he is the governor's second choice for the job.

Garrett, 59, is a small business owner in Bellevue and a 26-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, according to a press release from the Governor's Office.
