Tea Party Group Attacks The Wrong Rep. King

Source: TalkingPointsMemo.com

The Tea Party Express sent out an email attacking Rep. King. There was just one problem though: the email attacked the wrong Rep. King.

Instead of attacking Rep. Peter King (R-NY), the email criticized Rep. Steve King (R-IA), a tea party favorite and conservative firebrand.

The group issued a correction email once the error was realized:

(CORRECTION: We sent out this email earlier and made a glaring error that we apologize for. We mistakenly wrote Steve King when it is Peter King that we have issue with. Unlike Peter King, who has been attacking the Tea Party with lies and smears, we hold ourselves accountable for the inaccuracies we make. We are sorry to you and our friend Steve King for the mistake.)

The email was meant to attack the New York congressman for forming a new political action committee whose aim is to fight tea party favorites like Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rand Paul (R-KY). King formed the PAC, the American Leadership PAC, to promote more establishment Republicans and counter conservative groups supporting Cruz, Paul and others.

I am sure this happens all the time. I remember, seeing a movie (i am vague in remembrance, but you will see what i mean) in which the Nazi assassination squad killed a Müller (or Schmidt, or Schumann), but not the one they intended. The police are forever breaking into the wrong house and apartment. These sorts go out on a mission to destroy, and they are not too particular in accuracy.

While the Iowan King has been in top handful of outhouse rat crazies in Congress since he has been there, I would not cry too much over the New York King, whom has had a paranoid post 9/11 career. I grant you, that these twins are on different ends of the Republican continuum; but they both are jerks, and Republicans, o, i repeat myself.

This phoney grassroots activism nonsense is going to kill the GOP next year. Competitive candidates will be primaried, replacing possibly winning candidates with losers and wasting valuable time and money that would normally go to fighting their Dem enemies.

Instead the purists are happy to fight their internal enemies and to hell go the hindmost.

The GOPe vs Bagger war will put the Dems in charge of the house and senate. JMHO
