4.6-magnitude Mexico earthquake felt in Southern California

A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck northern Mexico Thursday night.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck 27 miles north-northeast of Camalu.

The preliminary magnitude of the quake was 5.2, but it was later downgraded. The temblor was reportedly felt across parts of San Diego County.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

Mexico quake felt in San Diego County

An earthquake centered in Mexico was widely felt Thursday night throughout San Diego County.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 4.6-magnitude quake occurred 57 miles east-southeast of Ensenada.

It was recorded at 9:27 p.m. and occurred at a depth of 9.1 miles, the USGS said.

There were numerous posts on the USGS "Did you feel it?" earthquake page from San Diego County. It was felt in areas including Alpine, Chula Vista, La Mesa, El Cajon, Spring Valley, Del Mar, Carlsbad and Escondido.
