House Intel Chair On Snowden: 'We Call That Treason'

Source: TPM

CAITLIN MACNEAL – DECEMBER 22, 2013, 10:19 AM EST

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, on Sunday said that he did not support amnesty for National Security agency leaker Edward Snowden, especially after Snowden offered Brazil help investigating NSA spying.

"We call that treason," Rogers said on ABC's"This Week" about Snowden's actions.

Rogers On NSA: 'Perspective Is Important'

CAITLIN MACNEAL – DECEMBER 22, 2013, 10:55 AM EST165
Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Mike Rogers (R-MI) on Sunday said that Americans and Congress need "perspective" when reviewing the recent proposal on curbing National Security Agency surveillance practices and when considering the recent ruling by a federal judge that found that NSA practices are likely unconsitutional.

"Perspective is important," Rogers said of the court ruling on ABC's "This Week." "Yes, this one district judge that doesn't handle national security cases had a difference of opinion, that is our good system."

Rogers said that the panel that reviewed NSA spying found no "scandal" within the agency. He said that the report should be carefully reviewed, especially since he found that the panel missed a few points in its investigation.

"I think this is not the holy grail of reports, but I do think it crossed a very important milestone in saying, hey, no scandal, no law-breaking, now let's just have an honest debate about where we think we ought to go in trying to stop terrorists from blowing up American citizens here in the United States," he said.

But having a "R" behind your name is tantamount to treason to every correct thinking life form on the planet....Sorry, but you are an irrelevant sub-vertebrate waste of natural resources and atmospheric oxygen. Please do the right thing and stop wasting those resources.... The world would be so much a better place without you and your hateful ilk.

The constitution, the Bill of Rights, the lack of duty and defence, the corruption, the insistence on the world corrupting itself at the alter of corporatism, cronyism and
Treason was not be performed by Mr Snowden, he is simply the system, with freedom of information, as it should be.
Treason is as has been performed by Mr Rogers and his crony mates.

As with State Terrorism using drone strikes against innocent civilians in other countries, is OK with you, Mr. Rogers?
The best way to stop terrorism, here or anywhere for that matter, is for us, US, to stop making more terrorist of the survivors, when we kill their wives, husbands, sons, daughters, friends and relatives. That upsets people and they have a tendency to want to even the score.

There are many right here on DU that can't seem to comprehend that simple fact.
