Bobby Jindal will run for president in 2016: Top US senator
PTI : Washington, Mon Dec 23 2013, 10:31 hrs
Top Republican leader and current Governor of Louisiana Bobby Jindal is planning to run for president in 2016, a top US Senator from his home State has said.
I do think, he (Jindal) will run. He is being running. He would be a significant candidate," Senator David Vitter told private American TV channel C-SPAN's Newsmakers programme in an interview.
"I like Bobby, I respect his leadership, I agree with all of his political values. But I haven't thought about what I would do or wouldn't do personally," Vitter said.
"Oh yeah. I think that's very obvious to everybody who has been paying attention," the junior Senator from Lousiana said when asked if he believes Jindal would to be president.

Isn't that the way it always works?

Jindal has preformed miserably in Louisiana, we don't need his kind of leadership. He has been on attack of the 90% as governor of Louisiana

Seriously, I can see Jindal maybe as a vice-presidential candidate. I know he was at one time the GOP's wunderkind, but the republicans are so desperate to have an old, White man back in the presidency, there is no way in hell they're going to go with Bobby, and it's going to be embarrassing to see him pander for the job. The best he can hope for is being the veep candidate of a GOP team elected and re-elected then a combination of his not doing anything stupid in 8 years and a lessening of the racism inherent in his party to have a chance in 2024.
And really, what are the odds of either of those things happening?

(430 posts)O, as some of the responses suggest, this may be funny. I do not know who used it first, and when the term came into circulation, "clown car" is perfect. The sad, and dangerous point is that no matter how ridiculous, or horrendous the eventual Republican nominee is, is that he will get 45% of the electorate in a two man race.
We also should have a real bookmaker's system on this. Many of you are more familiar in creating charts and graphs on the computer. We should have an on-going one.
