Nebraska federal judge shuts down blog that gained national attention

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Joseph Morton

WASHINGTON – One of Nebraska's federal judges is shutting down his colorful blog that garnered national media attention.

U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf started the blog, called Hercules and the Umpire, in February 2013. On New Year's Day, he wrote that it's time to walk away.

"In this forum, I have written all that I want to write and then some," Kopf noted. "It is that simple. My decision is final."

Snip: He wrote "it is time to tell Congress to go to hell" at one point and mocked House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, as "the man with the golden tan."

FULL story at link.

if he's a 'federal judge,' he's not 'Nebraska's.' The headline and article could have said 'U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf for the District of Nebraska.'
