CAITLIN MACNEAL – JANUARY 5, 2014, 9:25 AM EST

Mitt Romney on Sunday said he accepted MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry's apology for a controversial segment on her show poking fun at a Romney family photo including Romney's adopted grandson, Kieran Romney.

"I think her apology was clearly heartfelt, and we accept that," former Massachusetts Gov. and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney said on "Fox News Sunday." "I've made plenty of mistakes myself, and they've apologized."

Romney added that he accepts that he should expect criticism as a public figure, but said it was unfair to make fun of his family.

"If you get in the political game, you can expect incoming," he said, but added that, "children, that's beyond the line."

UPDATE:

Romney Wishes He Could 'Turn Back The Clock'

CAITLIN MACNEAL – JANUARY 5, 2014, 9:41 AM EST

Former GOP presidential candidate and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on Sunday said he wished he could go back in time when asked about Obamacare and the 2012 election.

"I don't know. I wish I could go back and turn back the clock and take another try," he said on "Fox News Sunday" when asked if he felt he would have won the 2012 election if President Obama had not lied about Americans being able to keep their health insurance plans.

Romney added that he is trying not to focus on the past, though.

"But history is in the past, and I'm not going to worry about what could have happened. What I am worried about, is that you have a lot of people who are going to find their premiums going through the roof," he said. "They're going to find that the doctor they've had, they can't keep. They're going to find the policies they were promised they could have, they're not going to be able to keep. And the American people are going to be very, very upset about that."

Being as he's a rather thin-skinned fellow (and Queen Ann all the more so!) I am surprised at his gracious statement on this.

I'm still really, really glad he's not President though.

She groveled and apologized and the great Mittens accepted, so she may get to live another day. After all, how dare the libruls attack a man who got so mega rich destroying families and children; the important word being "rich."

of course her 'employer' might have insisted she grovel at the feet of this POS IF she wanted to keep raking in the big bucks. Just saying. He destroyed many families livelihood and security. He is a perfect example of the benign fascist 1%ers.

out of it shall we? And yes the children of President Obama and other Democratic politicians are fair game to the right wing, but as a progressive I like to think that I'm better than that.

But having said that I'm sure that MHP, and I am a big fan of hers, meant no aspersions to any children in the Romney family. I was very impressed with her heart felt apology and as others in this thread have pointed out, you would never get a sincere apology like that from the likes of Limbaugh.

"as a progressive I like to think I'm better than that". That's been the mantra of the left wing since Obama became POTUS. His children have been put at risk because the right wing has divulged their vacation spots and no telling what I don't know about the hate thrown at the 'first brown family' by good ole boys and girls. Sometime a person just has to get down in the mud and slug it out with an opponent and kick his ass, no rules. Period. He's lucky I didn't run against him, I would've found the dirt on his whole family and divulged it. And laughed while that sociopathic POS squirmed in that mud.
