Obama to visit North Carolina in lead up to State of the Union

For the second year in a row, President Barack Obama will make an early trip to North Carolina where he’ll begin to lay out his administration’s agenda for the year. In a warm up to his Jan. 28 State of the Union address, Obama will be traveling to Raleigh on Wednesday.

A White House official said Thursday that Obama will be in the Raleigh Durham area on Jan. 15 for an event on the economy.

Obama’s expected to unveil an ambitious agenda at his State of the Union that includes income inequality, raising the minimum wage, and immigration. He’s also expected to try and refocus the healthcare debate, which has dogged him over the last several months due to its disastrous roll out.
