The EU has reported "very good progress" at talks with Iran on the implementation of a deal on Iran's nuclear programme.
The issue was now "under validation at political level in capitals", the EU's External Action Service said.

(59,475 posts)suggest that she too deserved credit if things work out with Iran because she pushed for the sanctions and she was Secretary of State when the Oman back channel was developed - and Burns, one of those who worked that channel reported to her. (This was in several whiny articles that were unhappy that other articles suggested that Kerry could outshine her as Secretary of State.)
So, with that in a back pocket, she has been absolutely silent herself on the Iran negotiations. (No tweet - congratulating Obama and Kerry from her!) I suspect this is mostly politics - if it works out, the media will gradually give her more and more credit. I would not be surprised to see her credited as starting this entire outreach - by 2016, Kerry's role (and maybe even Obama's) will be almost a footnote. If it fails, she will sound like Netanyahu on the initial deal and her silence will be explained as what she thought she owed Obama.
Going forward, I think the one thing we can take from Hillary's actions and words, is that she will be very cautious on things like this and Israel/Palestine and she will be more hawkish than Obama. (Look too at Syria, would Hillary have created the diplomatic opening Kerry did - or would her poor relationship with Lavrov have meant she would not not even have been in the position to try and would never have risked making the suggestion that Kerry did - that her friends in the media still label a gaffe. )
