Republicans are targeting the officials in charge of Oregon's health insurance exchange, Cover Oregon, which failed to go live on time and subsequently forced the state to sign people up for insurance using paper applications, the Oregonian reported.
The Republican National Committee is filing public records requests for information on compensation and vacation time for top Oregon Live officials Rocky King and Carolyn Lawson, according to the Oregonian. King has announced that he will resign as director in March, and Lawson has already resigned from her position as chief technology officer.
RNC spokesman Michael Short said the party will hold Oregon Democrats who are up for re-election in 2014 accountable. Those lawmakers include including Gov. John Kitzhaber, Sen. Jeff Merkley and Rep. Kurt Schrader.
" The) national party is getting involved to hold these elected leaders responsible for this disaster," Short told the Oregonian.
