JUDGE SPIKES PHOTO ID REQUIREMENT FOR PA. VOTERS

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A state judge has struck down the law requiring Pennsylvania's voters to show photo identification at the polls.

Commonwealth Court Judge Bernard McGinley said the requirement that was the centerpiece of Pennsylvania's embattled 2012 voter identification law places an unreasonable burden on the fundamental right to vote.

The decision paves the way for an expected appeal to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Republicans approved the law over the protests of Democrats.

Wonder what State Rep. Turd's Eye is saying now?
When they passed it he said, "This will assure Gov. Romney winning Pennsylvania!"

Let's see how far up the food chain this goes...hopefully it gets struck down by the US Supreme Court so that the same type laws will be struck down here in North Carolina, with all the other oppressive repug-passed voter suppression laws........

...good enough? It was good enough for the iraqi voters.

And how many times are you willing to chop off an india-ink stained fingertip to vote again that same day?

And never stop watching. We must be vigilant and let people know we are watching. Take five minutes to write to your state Repub party and tell them people have the right to vote. It takes a lot of letters to get their attention. But we can do it!!

I'm not so sure the SSC will overturn the ruling.

I'm pretty sure the SSC had already heard the case and sent it back to Commonwealth Court for a more extensive trial.

the photos on a driver's license can be over a decade old. a quick glance by a poll worker isn't going to reveal anything definitive and if they start looking really closely, that's going to be problematic too.
