Wife of Indian minister who hacked into her husband's Twitter account to announce he was 'having an affair with a journalist' is found dead in hotel
The wife of an Indian government minister has been found dead in a five-star new Delhi hotel following reports she had hacked into her husband's Twitter account and published a series of romantic messages between him and a Pakistani journalist.
The body of Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor, 52, was discovered by authorities at the plush Leela Palace hotel. Authorities say they are not currently treated her death as suspicious.
Her death comes just one day after she and husband Shashi Tharoor, released a statement on Facebook claiming they were still happily married and intended to stay together.
Mr Tharoor's personal assistant Abhinav Kumar told reporters: 'She was lying in bed. There were no signs of any foul play or any struggle. She had no sign of poisoning or anything'.
Mrs Pushkar Tharoor, had reportedly hacked the Twitter account of her husband, who is India's junior human resources minister, and published romantic messages apparently between him and journalist Mehr Tarar to his two million followers.
Mr Tharoor, known as 'Minister Twitter' for his love of the social messaging site - was left acutely embarrassed after the messages appeared on his feed.

(10,274 posts)The wife of a prominent Indian politician was found dead of an apparent suicide in her hotel room Friday night after engaging in a Twitter feud with a Pakistani journalist she accused of having an affair with her husband.
The politician, Shashi Tharoor -- an author, former United Nations official and Twitter star with over 2 million followers -- found his wife lying motionless on her bed in New Delhis five-star Leela Hotel with no sign of external injury, police said.
The news of Sunanda Pushkar Tharoors death sent ripples of shock through New Delhi, where Tharoor, who serves as Indias human resources minister, is one of the best-known members of the ruling Indian National Congress party. His high profile also has made him fodder for tabloids, which have labeled him Minister Twitter due to his fondness for social media.
But Twitter got him into trouble this week after posts from his account suggested that he was having an affair with a Pakistani journalist, Mehr Tarar.

(5,861 posts)52 is a bit young for woman to die of natural causes but a stroke is a possibility for someone in her age range and would not leave obvious signs.
The assistant who said she wasn't poisoned would not be qualified to make that assessment either.
Fiber in the lungs and nasal passages, ruptured blood vessels in the eyes. Though people being smothered usually fight fiercely unless drugged.

(11,014 posts)Which part of "currently" do you not get?
There will be an autopsy and toxicology reports to sort that out. "Currently" there are no indications such as gun shot wounds, knife wounds, blunt force trauma, bruising, petechiae, nail-clubbing or bloody mucus frothing the mouth and that means "currently" the death is not suspicious.
Also, repeating the "human trafficking" meme makes you as credible as Faux News which keeps repeating "Obama made IRS go after right wing groups" or "Bengazi!!!!!"

The wife of an Indian government minister, found dead by her husband in a luxury hotel in Delhi last week, died of a drug overdose, local media have reported.
Doctors who conducted an autopsy on Sunanda Pushkar, 52, have been quoted attributing the cause of death to "drug poisoning."
Dr Amit Gupta, spokesman of the hospital in the Indian capital where the autopsy was conducted, confirmed to the BBC that the "preliminary report shows there was drug overdose".
Pushkar was married to Shashi Tharoor who, though only a junior human resources development minister, is one of the current Indian government's highest profile members.
