A resolution to be introduced at this week's Republican National Committee meeting will push GOP candidates to recommit to their anti-abortion positions and fight "deceptive" rhetoric from Democrats.
CNN obtained the resolution, which was written by Delaware National Committeewoman Ellen Barrosse and backed by 15 co-sponsors.
An excerpt:
Whereas, The Republican Party is proud to stand up for the rights of the unborn and believe all Americans have an unalienable right to life as stated in The Declaration of Independence;
Whereas, Pro-life Republicans should fight back against deceptive rhetoric regardless of those in the Republican Party who encourage them to stay silent

(2,983 posts)What a bunch of twits. Whether this or that particular candidate is "Pro-life" as they mistakenly call it, is really irrelevant. Overall, the vast majority of these "Pro-life" individuals, are men, who will never have to face the consequences of an unwanted pregnancy. A resolution to support ignorance and holier-than-thou hypocrisy... somehow, I'm not surprised to see such a thing from the republican party.
Deceptive rhetoric? The very term "Pro-life" is deceptive rhetoric. It isn't very "Pro-life" to favor illegal wars and the death penalty.

A Kentucky Republican lawmaker wants to classify abortion as a form of domestic violence.
The most brutal form of domestic violence is the violence against unborn children, and this particular bill would prohibit abortions after the fetus feels pain, which is 20 weeks and older, said Rep. Joe Fischer (R-Fort Thomas).
The bill, HB 8, would allow victims of alleged abuse to seek domestic violence protection orders from the courts against former spouses and relative living with a child.
Kentucky law currently permits only married or cohabitating couples to seek protection orders.
