Johnathan Doody, one of the two young men charged in the 1991 Temple murders at a Buddhist temple in Waddell, was found guilty on all counts this morning in Maricopa County Superior Court.
Doody sat impassively as the court clerk read the verdicts: nine counts of first-degree murder, nine counts of armed robbery and single counts of burglary and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
The verdict in the retrial was delivered just after 10:15 a.m., before Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Joseph Kreamer. The jury began deliberating aggravating factors in the case immediately.
Doody, 39, was charged with nine counts each of first-degree murder and armed robbery, plus burglary and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
