Boehner Says He Wouldn't Give Up His Wine And Cigarettes To Be President

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) enjoys a glass of red wine and a cigarette, and he wouldn't be willing to give that up to be the country's chief executive.
Listen, I like to play golf. I like to cut my own grass," he told Jay Leno on Thursday's "The Tonight Show." "You know, I do drink red wine. I smoke cigarettes, and Im not giving that up to be president of the United States."
Boehner wouldn't endorse a potential 2016 candidate, but told Leno that "Jeb Bush is my friend, and I frankly think hed make a great president."
The speaker was more animated talking about his duties as the leader of the House. Growing up in a bar gave him the skills he needed to lead the GOP caucus, he said -- "you have to learn to deal with every jackass that walks through the door" -- but he later added that people often don't understand being House speaker involves more than just leading.

Obviously, your judgment is impaired.

I do not like Boehner though. The grass cutting thing is the one and only thing we have in common.

(1,915 posts)all that shit is still legal to do while you are president, no?
crazy though that he thinks its ok to be smashed when he is only the speaker but it would not be appropriate if he was president?
sounds to me like 'being president is too much fucking work and im a lazy bastard.'

(95,337 posts)I heard he quit smoking but he was a smoker when he first ran. And I know he drinks beer because they homebrewed beer from the Bees raised in the White House Garden.

(95,337 posts)I think Obama finally gave up cigarettes. I know Michelle bugged him about it but when he ran for office he was a smoker, just kept it private.
And we know he drinks too. They server a Honey Ale Beer that was brewed from the Bees Honey made at the White House Garden.
So why would the USA suddenly NOT want to vote for a Smoker/Drinker when the last 2 elections they did.
