Brother-in-law beaten in jail to keep quiet about Rob Ford’s drug use, lawsuit alleges
Source: Globe and Mail
Several prisoners shattered the teeth and broke the leg of Rob Fords estranged brother-in-law in a jailhouse beating that was intended to keep him quiet about the Toronto mayors abuse of alcohol and illegal drugs, it has been alleged in a lawsuit.
The 2012 jailhouse assault of Scott MacIntyre was orchestrated by Aedan Petros, Mr. MacIntyre has alleged in a statement of claim. Mr. Petros is a 300-pound, violent criminal who played defensive tackle for Mr. Ford when he was the coach of the football team at Don Bosco Catholic Secondary School.
When Mr. MacIntyre was attacked in the shower on March 22, 2012, at the Toronto West Detention Centre, it came after several weeks of veiled threats from inmates who urged the 46-year-old repeat offender to do the right thing, Mr. MacIntyre said separately in an hour-long interview with The Globe and Mail.
They wanted to know if I was going to do the right thing was I going to keep my mouth shut, Mr. MacIntyre told The Globe.

The drug addict and former dealer, bully extraordinaire got some of his old associates to threaten someone? Are we surprised? Rob Ford is just getting started. The worst is yet to come.

(3,278 posts)They're the wealthy elite (that they keep complaining about living in downtown Toronto).
If the politics gig falls through, they've still got daddy's multi-million dollar business, and they've greased plenty of palms while they were in office. The Ford brothers will do just fine. They'll land on their feet, and not lose anything except face. They are the very picture of white privilege in this country. I'll be happy if Robby ever has to do the perp walk, but I just don't see it ever happening. I've got friends who are convinced that he's going to be re-elected (though they hate the idea, they feel it's inevitable).

I agree with everything you say, though, except for the perp walk. His family is just messed up enough to enable him and his excesses right into jail. But the police will wait until they have no other choice at all, sadly.
