SEATTLE (AP) - Amanda Knox said Friday she will fight the reinstated guilty verdict against her and an ex-boyfriend in the 2007 slaying of a British roommate in Italy and vowed to "never go willingly" to face her fate in that country's judicial system .
"I'm going to fight this to the very end," she said in an interview with Robin Roberts on ABC's "Good Morning America.

A woman believed to be Amanda Knox, center left, is hidden under a jacket while being escorted from her mother's home to a car by family members Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, in Seattle. Amanda Knox says she is frightened and saddened by her "unjust" murder conviction in the death of her British roommate Meredith Kercher. Knox's lawyers have vowed to appeal to Italy's highest court. In a statement issued from Seattle on Thursday after her conviction was upheld, Knox blamed overzealous prosecutors and a "prejudiced and narrow-minded investigation" for what she called a perversion of justice and wrongful conviction. Sadly to say, I believe she should be making these appeals from Brazil, her new home, because I believe when all said and done, she will be sent back The treaty between US and Italy is strong, and she is a small fish compared to others.

I can' t understand what kind of proof they had to convict her. Everything I've seen leaves way too much doubt. This verdict really smells. I sure have less respect for the Italian justice system now.

The Court of Cassation considers legal aspects only which is what she'll be up against if her defense appeals again. If successful she'll remain guilty until a further appeal trial decided otherwise.

(579 posts)Just kidding, I really don't think the DoJ will consider an extradition request from Italy considering the totally fucked up investigation and the corruption of the prosecutor's office from day 1, and, if they do, I hope they, either, tear up the request, shred it, or wipe their ass with it.
I've visited Italy numerous times, a beautiful country with a rich history, but until this is settled, my wife and I will boycott going there.
