And Kiner's Korner was kool.

New Yorkers of a certain age will understand; the two leagues were like warring nations once and that extended down to cities with two teams. The rivalries are still there, but it was really raw 40 some-odd years ago. And if you were 10 years old in 1969 in New York, you took a ton of crap from Met fans if you were aligned with the Bronx team.

Anyway, Kiner, Lindsay Nelson and Bob Murphy had to be the best trio of ball announcers ever. When they had a great team to work with, it was must-see TV.

RIP, Ralph, who also hit 50 HR in a season when that was an almost impossible feat.

so much so that people don't even think of him as a Hall Of Fame player for Pittsburgh. RIP Ralph and I'll never forgot my memories of watching 'Kiner's Korner' after Mets games
