Prosecutors say neo-Nazi killed Colorado prison chief, pizza delivery man

Source: Reuters

(Reuters) - A neo-Nazi parolee murdered Colorado's prison chief last year after forcing a pizza delivery man whom he kidnapped and later killed to record a message denouncing the prison system, federal prosecutors said in a court filing released on Monday.

The disclosure is the first time authorities have publicly stated that ex-convict Evan Spencer Ebel killed the head of the Colorado Department of Corrections, Tom Clements, and 27-year-old pizza delivery driver Nathan Leon.

Previously, investigators stopped short of calling Ebel the trigger man in the two murders, saying only that the weapon used to kill the two men matched the handgun Ebel used when he was killed in shootout with Texas police days after the murders.

The existence of the audiotape surfaced in the case of Stevie Vigil, a Denver-area woman who pleaded guilty to buying a 9mm handgun for Ebel, an ex-convict who skipped out on his parole days before the murders in March.

Hate crimes are a form of terrorism. If you belong to Neo-Nazi organization, you should be treated as a terrorist.

A hate crime? Not saying it's right, just don't see it as a "hate crime".

Plus, we should call hate groups the terrorist organizations they really are.

I do know a little about prison gangs. Most members join out of the necessity for self preservation and protection. Once in, they never get out. It is or should be a national embarrassment, the prison culture we allow and accept. Most first time offenders simply want to do their time in peace. The system puts all offenders in with known victimizers and forces them to defend themselves, and earn their way to safer populations rather than putting them in with others who just wish to serve their time.

Unfortunately, the prison guard culture tends to attract a large sadistic crowd. They play games with people's lives, minds, and safety. The federal system is set up to entice people to join "disruptive groups, then punishes them for doing so. We create monsters then are surprised when they act like monsters.

He said it is all about the attitude you project. If you don't appear weak, don't start trouble, don't mess with others, and treat other with respect you usually will be alright. He said that joining a gang is a choice many inmates make, and not one forced on them. Especially joining the AB (Ayran Brotherhood). He did hate the guards, though. He called them police. He said "Fuck them police."

Could have been lots of things, but revenge is always one that comes to mind in these cases.
