House passes 'clean' debt ceiling bill

The House passed a yearlong suspension of the Treasurys debt limit Tuesday in a vote that left Republicans once again ceding control to Democrats, following a collapse in support for an earlier proposal advanced by GOP leaders. Just enough Republicans joined with nearly all Democrats to approve a clean extension of the federal governments borrowing authority one without strings attached sending the legislation to the Senate for a possible final vote later this week.

I'll admit I'm amazed. I was sure it would be more of the debt-ceiling two-step. The fact that the Speaker put it up for a vote suggests that enough of the GOP finally caught a clue that it would be bad for them in November if they kept pulling the same crap.

Ted Cruz (R-TX)..Mike Lee (R-UT)..James Risch (R-Idaho) or some other ass-wipe?
