Source: BBC
Two teenage boys have been charged in the US with the sexual assault and ritual murder of a 15-year-old girl.
....
Prosecutors in Texas said the pair believed they were doing a deal with "the devil" when they killed the girl.
They are also accused of disfiguring the girl's body, including carving an upside down crucifix on her stomach.

(1,941 posts)Organized ritual abuse is not real. Accusing random violent nuts of being satanists has happened. But other times the nuts do latch on to pop culture satanic imagery. Murders have been conducted in the name of the devil. They've also been done in the name of god. But these tend to be isolated nuts.
To be clear, what you don't really have are large, organized covens snatching babies and doing black magic to support politicians and business leaders.

(13,460 posts)Sociopaths like to find ways of demonstrating their nastiness, murder in the name of the devil would fit nicely.

The only guideline Satanists have is looking at stuff in the Bible and thinking "What would Satan do?".

How many killed, maimed, abused, sexually abused, etc. by "Christians"?
Granted... more "Christians" than "satanists", but....
