Activists say five Venezuela protesters injured by gunshots

Source: Reuters

CARACAS (Reuters) - Armed pro-government groups attacked and shot at people protesting against President Nicolas Maduro's government in western Venezuela, injuring five, activists said.

Men on motorbikes belonging to militant community groups known as "colectivos" attacked the demonstrators late on Tuesday in the Andean city of Merida, the activists said, the latest unrest over a series of anti-government protests in Venezuela.

There was no comment from government officials on the incident. They have been accusing hardline Venezuelan opposition leaders of promoting violent demonstrations as part of a wider strategy to bring down the 10-month-old Maduro government.

A human rights activists who works with the opposition party Popular Will said the five injured in Merida were aged between 15 and 34, and all had bullet-wounds.

Perhaps they were pecked by a magical, talking bird?

Interesting that a "colectivo" in Argentina is a city bus, but in Venezuela, it's a fascist goon squad.

After all, Venezuela is a thriving socialist paradise with a robust economy. Right?
Ooops, I was wrong.

You can bet he's wanting an overthrow opportunity.

And if it goes down like that, no one can point their fingers at the US. Diosdado Cabello is a die hard socialist.

7. No names. No description of injuries. No hospital or medical reports. No description of victims...

...(other than an age range from 15 to 34). No quotes from victims or their friends or relatives. Just "activists said" (and we're talking rightwing activists who are notorious for their thuggery in Venezuela, not to mention their lies, and not to mention their lies about shooters*). No description of the alleged perps. No police report. The only quote is by "Tamara Suju," who is described as "a human rights activists (sic) who works with the opposition party Popular Will." No verification of her status or credentials as "a human rights activists." No human rights group mentioned. No way to verify or evaluate her allegation. (She could be--and probably is--just a shill for the fascists.)

This is typical of Rotters and other 1%-er disinformation agencies and their alleged 'reporting.' I've learned over the last decade to distrust EVERYTHING they publish about Venezuela. And I distrust this. They lie. They really do. And they are plugged into the lying liars in Venezuela and instantly broadcast their lying lies around the world WITHOUT VERIFICATION, time and again. Wall Street wants to crush this socialist government, the pioneer of the leftist democracy movement that has swept South America. That's all Rotters needs to know to print garbage 'reporting' like this.

description of injuries too. However, it is unlikely there is any info out there that would dissuade you from your fanaticism of this government for whatever reasons you have since its the absolute worst government in the entire hemisphere.

If Cabello winds up taking over it'll be interesting whether they blame the US for instigating or blame Cabello for a power move...

Who are these people shooting from motorcycles?

Sounds like a drug cartel, not a government operation. Or the Koch vision for the USA.

Tupamaros are chavista empowered street gangs.

The cops don't interfere with them and when night falls they go on rampages.

This one is my favorite, where the evil fascist violent murderous protesters go to the top 1% house, with a big gate, and filled with national guard security, ready and willing to defend Venezuela's boligarchs:
