Ex-medical supply official indicted on tax fraud charges

A former top official at a Houston medical supply company is facing more than 60 years in federal prison after his indictment on tax fraud charges.
Lanny C. McCandles was arrested on Thursday after his 16-count indictment the day before by a federal grand jury.
McCandles is accused of pocketing the money rather than paying the company employment taxes at Complete Care Medical Inc., where he worked as the chief financial officer.
He is accused of embezzling more than $134,000 between 2008 and 2010 and using the funds to pay personal expenses, officials with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Houston said.
