Obama to propose 1 percent pay raise for federal workforce, military

President Obama will propose a 1 percent pay raise for federal employees and members of the military in the fiscal 2015 budget that the White House is expected to announce next week. The increases are consistent with the pay hikes federal workers and troops received this year.

Until this year, federal pay rates were frozen for three years and furloughs in 2013 caused some federal employees to take a pay cut. The military has received pay raises every year during the Obama presidency.
