Cincinnati police probe Greenpeace security breach
Source: Associated Press
Cincinnati police are calling a meeting of the citys businesses in the aftermath of a security breach at Procter & Gamble Co. headquarters by Greenpeace activists.
Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell said Thursday the protest was a wake-up call. Activists got into the offices Tuesday and used zip lines to unfurl banners from the 12th floor. P&G says an activist posing as a businessman on the way to a meeting let the others in.
The activists were protesting P&Gs use of a palm oil supplier they say is tied to tropical forest destruction. They face burglary and vandalism charges.
Blackwell said police take the breach seriously and want to make sure corporations and hotels have solid security plans. He planned to convene a meeting soon.
The FBI has joined the investigation.
