MIDLAND, MI After 23 years representing the residents of Michigan's 4th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Dave Camp, R-Midland, has announced he will not seek re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives.
The veteran congressman, who currently serves as chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means, made the announcement late in the day Monday, March 31.
Today, I am announcing that I will not seek re-election to the United States House of Representatives," Camp said. "This decision was reached after much consideration and discussion with my family."
The congressman's announcement comes in the wake of an announcement by another powerful Michigan politician, U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, who said he is leaving politics to host a nationally-syndicated radio show.
