Obamacare Cuts Kentucky Uninsured Rate by 40 percent

Source: Talking Points Memo

Obamacare has cut Kentucky's uninsured population by more than 40 percent, signing up roughly 360,000 residents since enrollment opened up on Oct. 1, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Some 75 percent of them -- 270,000 -- were previously uninsured. That means Kentucky's uninsured population of 640,000 has come down by 42 percent.

The enrollment figures, which state officials relayed to the Courier-Journal and the Lexington Herald-Leader, underscore the relative success of Kentucky's state-based Obamacare exchange compared to other states and, in some ways, the HealthCare.gov federal marketplace portal.

There were about 4.3 million in Kentucky according to the 2010 census. The 360,000 signing up is about 9 percent of the population. If they and family members vote Democrat, great things could occur. Of course Republicans will continue to spread their lies but they may have cried wolf too often and much to loudly for voters to forget. The greatest voter belief I have seen in Kentucky is that the Government does not care about me. This may show what a farce this is, if Democrats trumpet it all over the state . I am sure they will in the high stakes elections.

(That and the fact that my girl cousins, from Lexington, KY are big fans; and though I'd normally be a Wisconsin fan, I'll demur because of its governor.)

It's amazing that the state of Kentucky, which I usually think of as being pretty retrograde, has won the race on this one. Good job, KY. Maybe the times are a changin'.

Perhaps Planned Parenthood did:

Planned Parenthood ACA Outreach

Published on Mar 31, 2014

The Affordable Care Act is one of the greatest advancements for women's health in a generation. As the leading women's health care provider and advocate, Planned Parenthood fought hard for the law's passage, and now we are working to make sure our patients and the communities we serve know about their new health care options.

In just a few months, Planned Parenthood reached out to over 1,560,000 people and had more than 300,000 conversations about health insurance.

This is where democrats fall down on the job, in my opinion. McConnell, in a tight race for reelection, should be wearing this around his neck like an albatross. I hope Alison Lundergan Grimes is listening.

And, whoever survives the primary, will not hear the end of it.

Cause he cares about the people, and knows they need health insurance...yes..that is true..

now...what about those republicans governors, who have not helped people get insurance???

They don't give a damn about their people...it is that simple...

as well as the tons of pure BS being spread around simply to confuse or discourage people, because some repubs are just plain evil.

They are so desperate to see this fail. They can't imagine living through a scenario where people benefit from a large reform from their opponents.

It isn't that they hate to help people, or they stand around and do nothing when someone is drowning, they try to prevent others from helping. Their view is the only view, and others should never help, and the Republicans "actively block others from helping"

How true, quite clearly stated. It is who they are..evil...

This whole year is election season, every day that goes by effects the voting pool. I'd be LOL if she wins, along with Wendy. Both very tough campaigns in very red states.
