I saw this story on my FB news feed first thing this morning.

A very touching comment from Peter Turnley -

"I am so sad to hear of the death of Anja Niedringhaus in Afghanistan today. My heart goes out to all of her friends and family. I worked with her in many places throughout the world over the years, and she was a wonderful photographer and person. The entire world is so blessed for the commitment and courage of Anja who bore witness for us all to the realities of our times. God bless her soul, and my heartfelt condolences to all of her friends and colleagues, and to all of you out there, doing such important, powerful, and beautiful work each day with all of your hearts at great risk to your life."
