Scott Brown to formally enter Senate contest Thursday

Source: WMUR

Former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown will formally launch his bid for the U.S. Senate in New Hampshire Thursday with a big rally at a Portsmouth hotel.

Plans are underway for an early evening event at the Portsmouth Sheraton Harborside Thursday night. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

The formal launch means that Brown will officially try to become the first person since the 1870s to serve as a senator from two different states. It also means that he will bear the burden of becoming an actual candidate, which comes with its own set of pressures from both his own supporters and opponents.

After a nearly month long "listening tour" exploring a run for the Senate that took him to all of the state's 10 counties, Brown enters a Republican primary against candidates who have been in the contest for months, including former state Sen. Jim Rubens, former U.S. Sen. Bob Smith and conservative activist Karen Testerman.

"The formal launch means that Brown will officially try to become the first person since the 1870s to serve as a senator from two different states."

Or, more likely/hopefully, he'll become the first person to lose in senate races in two different states...

2 down and 48 to go until every state in the union tells his carpetbagging teabagging self they'd rather have him grocerybagging.

I imagine he's been exposed for what he is and the good people of New Hampshire will want nothing to do with him.

I don't think he will even win the primary. If he wins the primary, he will have his ass kicked in the general election.

Either way, I hope Brown's supporters do the Tomahawk chop and bring curling irons to threaten his 3rd straight female opponent with.

Not a good start. Also picking as campaign manager the guy who was his press spokesperson in 2012 - late of Governor Christie's staff may not be all that good of an idea either. (There were lots of screws up on things likely related to the press spokesperson - including plagiarizing Senator Dole's statement to youth - even though it completely was at odds with his background. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/10/13/1025938/-Scott-Brown-plagiarized-from-Elizabeth-Dole-s-web-site# )

Incidentally, he was also helped by Mr Etcha sketch (Eric Fehrnstrom - who will start a masters in theology at Boston College. )
