(2,068 posts)It was a rather old looking heap. A bus on its last legs. I have no idea who I'm voting for in this primary race. Any insights?

(94,502 posts)(I'm out of state). I'll support whomever the Democrats nominate, and I suspect any of the candidates can beat Corbett.

(2,068 posts)by being the first one running ads. His ads were running for weeks unopposed it seemed and they were very positive spots and I think that is the big difference so far. Now the others are going full bore negative to try and get into the race. They shouldn't have been so flat footed out of the blocks.

(128,844 posts)daily starting back in February - both television/cable and radio, and did so for a couple months straight before the others even made an attempt to get started (at least here in the Philly market). IMHO, the others apparently decided to go with the "start advertising 2 weeks before the primary" strategy with the assumption that folks would tune out anything done earlier. But apparently that didn't work when you had the persistence that Wolf had with his ads - none of which even bothered to address the other Democrats running at all (avoiding the "negative" , and focusing on attacking Corbett (the strategy of assuming he would be the nominee to run against Corbett). And that forced the others to start a couple weeks earlier than they had planned when they found themselves way way back in the polls... leading to a barrage of negative ads to try to knock Wolf down just to get back in the race.
I think Wolf will be a shoo-in at this point, although I felt that McCord, having been elected to a statewide office, had the best chance if Wolf wasn't in the race with all the ads.

(193 posts)Wolf was able to use his own money to take to the airwaves early since he is a rich business man. Wolf seems okay also but like I said McCord is to the left more.
