Husband of Congresswoman Slaughter dies Updated: Tuesday, May 20 2014, 06:22 PM EDT Rochester, N.Y. -

The husband of Congresswoman Louise Slaughter passed away Tuesday. The congresswoman's office released the following statement: “It gives us great sorrow to share the news that Louise’s husband of 57 years, Robert Slaughter, passed away today in Washington D.C. at the age of 82. Mrs. Slaughter and her family deeply appreciate the thoughts and prayers of the community as they work through this difficult time.”
