Ukrainian PM Yatseniuk asks for immediate UN Security Council session

The Ukrainian authorities have appealed to the UN to convene a Security Council session as soon as possible to address the situation in Ukraine.

"We are addressing our partners at the UN Security Council to immediately convene a UN Security Council session. We will present evidence proving that attempts to escalate the conflict […] and disrupt the presidential elections have been made on the part of Russia," Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk told journalists in the Kyiv region on Thursday.

In commenting on Russia's assurances that its troops, which recently conducted exercises near the Ukrainian border, are being pulled back to their permanent bases, Yatseniuk branded them as "bluffing."

He said also that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry had forwarded a note to Russia accusing it of fuelling the conflict.

1. How can they "address" an issue that essentially appears to be a propaganda point

Certainly there is a problem with "separatists" in the east, but it seems pretty clear that they are acting on what they percieve to be their own interests/concerns.

Part of the problem is that Kyiv continues to ignore a good half of their people and continue to debase citizens in the east by stereotypling them as Russian mouthpieces.

After watching this for several months closely it does seem Kiev is seriously prejudiced and purposely not interested in engaging close to half of their citizens in their "Democracy".

Even the Presidential election is a farce, as any opposition candidates that come forward end up beaten and threatened and no-one is currently running in the election except the candidates they want to run.

Of course our media and the heavily censored Ukrainian media mostly reports what is convenient for them and downplays inconvenient activity.

Here is a quick link to one of the incidents that was on video. Notice it was not "just" eggs thrown and threats of violence but he is actually hit even in this video multiple times.

This is only what goes on before the camera's. There are nasty people on both sides that threaten and have killed people.

Here is a video of an opposition activist who was kidnapped and beaten but conveniently ignored by western press at the same time they were headlining a similar action that appeared to have happened to a pro-maidan activist. I found both of these in 2 minutes on a quick search. Plenty more out there, but you will need to do the work yourself.
