State Department Tells U.S. Citizens to Leave Libya Immediately.

Source: nyt/reuters

The State Department on Tuesday told U.S. citizens in Libya to leave the country immediately, warning that the security situation remained "unpredictable and unstable."

"The Department of State warns U.S. citizens against all travel to Libya and recommends that U.S. citizens currently in Libya depart immediately," the State Department said in a new travel warning.

The last travel warning for Libya issued on Dec. 12 strongly advised against all but essential travel to Tripoli and against traveling outside the capital.

We had NO business intervening in an ongoing Civil War.
Gaddafi, warts and all, was the only thing holding Libya together.
You would think that after "Taking Out" Saddam we would have learned..

“The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.” ---Senator Obama, 12-20-2007

You were a BIG supporter of bombing Muslims and supporting "The Rebels" (Al Qaeda & other Fundamentalists) in Libya back in the day,
weren't you.
Its not MY fault if History has shown you how WRONG and how easily fooled you were.
Deal with it.

Who would have thought us helping Islamist extremists take over Libya would come to us not being welcome there. I guess we can just go on to Syria and "help" get them straight too.

They used a power vacuum in Libya to cause terror and outside forces became relevant. They'll be taken care of in due course. There have been mass protests in Misrata and Benghazi to decry these militants' actions.

..and Taking Out Gaddafi during the "intervention",
and THIS on the heels of Taking Out Saddam and destroying Iraq.
He put up near DAILY Propaganda screeds cheering on the bombings.
You would think that seeing the results of his work would have inspired some humility.

Libya had the highest standard of living in North Africa with many freedoms for women prior to our "help". They WERE an example for other Muslim countries to liberalize their old ways.
NOW... back to Sharia Law.

” For all his dictatorial megalomania, Gaddafi is a committed pan-African - a fierce defender of African unity. Libya was not in debt to international bankers. It did not borrow cash from the International Monetary Fund for any "structural adjustment". It used oil money for social services - including the Great Man Made River project, and investment/aid to sub-Saharan countries. Its independent central bank was not manipulated by the Western financial system. All in all a very bad example for the developing world.”
