Christie urges 'culture of life' approach at faith event
Source: USA Today
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie stressed his credentials as a social conservative on Friday, telling an influential audience of faith leaders and activists that his definition of being pro-life includes his outlook on issues beyond abortion.
If youre pro-life, as I am, you need to be pro-life for the whole life, Christie told the Faith & Freedom Coalition gathered in Washington. There needs to be a culture of life
From the womb to natural death, we need to be there even for those who stumble and fall.
Since he was first elected in 2009, the New Jersey governor has been frequently in the spotlight for his handling of fiscal issues such as budgets and pension reform rather than the social causes that drive many who belong to the Faith & Freedom Coalition, founded by longtime activist Ralph Reed.
In his remarks, Christie sought to link how his views against abortion are tied to his approach on treating non-violent drug addicts and launching more charter schools to help improve education.
