Fourth Of July Weekend Protests To Focus On TPP Threat To U.S. Jobs

Across America on this Fourth of July weekend unions, many congressional offices, Public Citizen’s Global Trade Watch and the Campaign for Fair Trade will be protesting the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. CWA Legislative Director Shane Larson working people in America are fed up with trade agreements that destroy American jobs.

[Shane Larson]: “Our members know that the Buy American Act, which has been in effect for many many years has given U.S. firms a leg up on U.S. government procurement contracts for generations. And why should we let the TPP and other trade agreements change that and further slash American jobs?”

This is a long Friday night news dump weekend, some people took the entire week off and most major news outlets are on holiday reduced staff levels and most people will be doing anything but paying attention to hard news. It is beer and BBQ plus some lake action for many.
