Rick Perry declines offer to meet Obama at airport

Source: Yahoo News

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a vocal critic of Obama's handling of the crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border, declined an official White House invitation to meet the president when he lands in Austin, saying he would like a more "substantive meeting."

Come on now, you all know that no republican wants to be seen with President Obama, especially if they have deluded themselves into thinking america wants them to be president.

Rick Perry declined to meet the president on Monday. On Tuesday, the president issued an invitation to Perry to meet in Dallas.

Update at 10:50 a.m.: The meeting is on.

“Governor Perry is pleased that President Obama has accepted his invitation to discuss the humanitarian and national security crises along our southern border, and he looks forward to meeting with the president tomorrow,” said Travis Considine, spokesman for Perry.

A subsequent update came in later:

update 12:30pm

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said the president looks forward to speaking with Gov. Rick Perry, but not one-on-one. He’ll be part of a meeting with local officials and faith leaders in Dallas who’ve been working to mobilize resources to address the border crisis.

That meeting, Earnest said, had been in the works for several days and was not a response to the pressure Obama has faced to tour the border, which he won’t do.

“The president certainly welcomes the efforts of those who are trying to contribute constructively,” Earnest said. When Perry wrote Monday proposing a meeting with the president, “We thought it made sense here to extend an invitation to Gov. Perry, to allow him to participate in that meeting with other Texans who are seeking to address this situation in a constructive manner.”

“We’re looking forward to Gov. Perry participating in that meeting,” Earnest said.

Will they actually cross paths and talk is still up in the air.

Giving that Texas Toad a one to one meeting with the President increases Perry's stature. Having a meeting that includes him among many other players puts him in the peanut gallery - nothin more nothing less.

Hurl insults, then refuse to face the man. Good for our President, he will not have to tolerate this CLOWN. Today, on her blog PayMe is calling the President "an ass"!!! I am sure THAT has to sting, coming from an intellectual giant like $carah. Both of these clowns thought wearing glasses made them look smart! What a joke, as soon as they open their gaping yaws, the ignorance shows.

Do not want to say Hey to the US president - who he as Governor represent at the federal level - nice attitude Rick Perry seen to have against the current US President... I guess if he had been white - he would had no worry about wisting from the US president - if so just for a photo up and a hand shake and a fee words on board AF1...

from the airport. Take the 100 from the airport to congress and 4th street. Then it's just a nice 7 block walk north to the mansion. And the Capitol building will be in front of him the whole time. And it'd only cost $1 for the 15 minute trip.
And if he gets hungry/thirsty on the way up Congress, he can stop at either 7-11 or Wholly Cow for a quick bite.

If the President is able to get to the governors mansion - then the Governor should be able to meet the President of United States too... As it would not take him any more time the other way.. After all Obama IS the President - not the other way around... But it say a lot about republicans when they can not even hide their hatered and distain for the sitting President anymore... and the fact is that they can not put anything on him - becouse he is a nice guy - or at least not as dirty as they hope he is..
