Source: my News 13

By Jerry Hume, Reporter

LAKE BUENA VISTA --
Walt Disney World confirmed Friday morning that they've reached a tentative agreement for a contract that impacts tens of thousands of employees.

The deal was reached last night and the tentative agreement -- that includes wage increases -- is with Disney's largest union.

The deal is between Disney and the Service Trades Council Union, which represents six affiliate unions.

A Disney spokesperson told us this morning the the agreement includes wage increases.

FULL story at link.

Disney workers marched together earlier this year, and their efforts were rewarded Friday morning when Disney announced they had reached a tentative agreement with six unions for pay increases.

I'd prefer if more of the profits went to workers, but at least there is some progress. Good for the Mouse.

Last year, Disney made $9.62 Billion before taxes, up from $9.26 Billion the year earlier. If all 30,000 got a $0.50 cent raise and worked 40 hour weeks, that would be an extra $31.2 million to Disney's bottom line annually.

On a positive note, Disney pays over 30% in income taxes annually and have done since at least 2008, even in the depths of the recession when their earnings before taxes was between $5 and $6 Billion.

Just 5 billion dollars is a fuck ton of money.
The Disney Corpse-eration could easily afford across the board $1.50 raises and still make a fuck ton and a half of money.
