Denis Pushilin, Ukraine Rebel Leader, Resigns; Now in Moscow

Source: The Epoch Times

Denis Pushilin, a rebel leader in the restive Donetsk region in Ukraine, resigned from his post on Friday night.

“Dennis is now in Moscow. He sent a letter addressed to me with a request for resignation from his post at his own request. In the council session, the question was put to the vote. MPs supported Pushilin’s resign,” vice-speaker Vladimir Makovich told Interfax Russia.

Pushilin was described as “chairman” of the Donetsk “Supreme Council.” He’s also been described as the leader of the insurgent, self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.

The reasons for his departure are unclear.

and all, they just wanted independence from Ukraine, dammit! They're not really agents of Russia, right? Where's Yanukovich, BTW? Haven't heard from that loyal Ukrainian in a while.

what the GRU euphemistically calls the place where traitors and major FUBARs go/ It's an incinerator where they are shoved-in feet-first and alive, so they can see it coming and feel the heat. All GRU Cadets are made to watch a film of an actual traitor being placed on the 'Conveyor', to remind them of what awaits them if they betray Mother Russia.

Coordinating, asking, begging, pleading. That he pops into Donets'k from time to time without much of a problem has been a PR mess for Ukraine. If he goes through a border point that Ukr controls he'd be nabbed and hauled off to Kiev. Nobody's quite sure how he gets back and forth, but it's obvious that the border's like a sieve and possible that the customs folk in Kharkiv wave him through with a wink and a nudge.

You don't have to have massive support for the support you do have to make all kinds of things possible if the majority is indifferent.

When Putin demands your presence back in Moscow, you get there as quick as you can. I'm sure Russia provided him with the fastest available transport.

and questions would be raised if he simply disappeared. What about the lower level people involved in this mess (e.g., the missile operators, the guy on the phone, the driver of the truck caught on video driving the missile battery back to Russia)? Might be time for some of them to consider applying for asylum as protected witnesses.

Without question, the DPR is a criminal enterprise, and the chairman of its ruling council — Denis Pushilin — is little different. Before the DPR, Pushilin was not some power player within any of the region's major political parties. His online bio lists him as a member of the MMM party, an extension of the Russian MMM financial pyramid company, which has systematically defrauded millions of Russians and Ukrainians in elaborate Ponzi schemes since the 1990s.

Hastily formed in 2012, the MMM political party never even registered to compete nationally in Ukraine's 2012 elections, but it did provide a facade of legitimacy while perpetuating the MMM Ponzi scheme in Ukraine.

Fool me twice, shame on me: Russians fall once again for notorious Ponzi scheme

Am I the only here who thinks Putin is the biggest threat to world peace right now? The asshole's an ex-KGB agent, after all. Wouldn't be surprised if he's nostalgic for the Soviet-era days
